Rebound dance co. 2020
"WHAT SEEMED CHALLENGING YESTERDAY WILL BECOME OUR NEXT PERFORMANCE"
In 2009, a group of Christchurch dance practioners met for coffee and a chat, and the concept of Rebound was born. A decade on, Rebound is a platform for performance and professional development for seasoned, mature dancers.
Rebound exists to make works that inspire. To grow our audiences, and to always celebrate both who we are and the extraordinary gift of dance that we share.
Rebound is a unique vehicle for maturing artists. Since its inception, the company has worked consistently; showing dedication and commitment to growth and development. This is quite an investment in our otherwise busy lives, but is also as joyous as we are passionate.
Rebound work in a supportive environment drawing on our strengths, experience and prior training. Company choreographers and dancers work to create innovative and gritty professional quality performances.
An artistic director is appointed to each project, whether that be working towards performance or professional development.
... a company full of 15 over 40s who are dance and performance savvy...
... the awesomeness and beauty of integrity of movement delivered with mana and soul.
with age comes experience ...
with experience comes liberation
Rebound are successful because of the works we make and our works are successful because of who we are.
